Birds, sailors and fairies 

Join a guided hike of an old trail between Patreksfjörður and Tálknafjörður. It was once the main route connecting the fjords, until the 1950s when roads were built. From Lambeyrarháls, walk to Suðureyri to see an old whaling station. You’ll also get the opportunity to stop by a ground depression believed to be a fairy settlement. Admire myriads of birds and stunning scenery. 

Practical information

  • Language: English and German.

  • Remarks/requirements: Dress in line with local weather conditions (we recommend layers, the outer being wind/waterproof) - warm and comfortable clothing. Sturdy, non slip Hiking boots. We recommend you bring a backpack, water bottle and some snacks. 

  • Walking information: Mainly on paved flat surfaces, some incline and a few steps going to the top near Látrabjarg.
