Take a guided tour of St Mary’s Garrison, which has served as a coastal defence system in Scilly for around 350 years. Learn about its remarkable history as you walk the preserved Garrison Walls. Today, St Mary’s is a beautiful haven of peace and tranquillity. Admire the abundance of birds, the clear turquoise sea, and the ancient sites and monuments.

  • Remarks/requirements: Appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. 

  • Walking information: Approximately 1.5 miles in total, up to 24 steps (depending on tide) from the tender from the Quay. The ground is uneven and hilly in places.
