Geological wonders

After boarding a coach from the harbour, we drive alongside Kaldbak fjord to the trailhead, marvelling at distinctive Faroese geology as we go.

We’ll then begin our hike uphill towards the top of the columnar basalt of the Streymoy Sill, which sites at around 919 feet above sea level. We’ll pause when we reach the summit to admire the surrounding tarns and outcrops, which have been sculpted smooth by ancient glaciers.

Following the path down the mountain, we head to the romantic, seaside village of Leynar to explore, before returning to Tórshavn.
