You will hike the crater formed by the 2014 eruption, with 2060m high. This is the opportunity to explore the most recent crater of Caldeira, which we call "Pequeno Pico". Here you can check the destruction caused by the eruption to this area, while observing the contrasts of colours between vegetation and lava. The heat of the soil in some places and the smell of sulphur reminds us of the recent activity of the volcano and give us a real sense of the destruction caused by lava flows.
