Since 2012, Daniel Skjeldam has spearheaded Hurtigruten Group's ascent to becoming a world-leading adventure travel company. He believes travel creates an intimate connection between us and the people, places and wildlife we encounter, encouraging stewardship of our planet through first-hand experience.
Under Daniel's leadership, Hurtigruten Group has pioneered industry-shaping initiatives, such as the world’s first battery hybrid-powered cruise ship. Most recently, his commitment to driving change resulted in the Group achieving the best ESG ranking in the cruise industry from Morningstar Sustainalytics.
Daniel is a graduate of NHH - Norwegian School of Economics with a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration. His diverse professional background spans various company boards, executive consultancy and service in the Norwegian Army.
An ardent explorer and passionate photographer, Daniel's affinity for the ocean is evident through his ventures, such as sailing and kayaking across the Svalbard islands and Antarctica. Despite balancing family life with two young children, his adventurous spirit endures.
