  • Dunhill Park (part of the Copper Coast Global Geopark)

  • Expert guides from the local Eco Group

  • A peaceful walk

  • Veritable haven for birds

Depart the pier and travel to the village of Dunhill, located along Waterford’s Copper Coast. Dunhill is part of the Copper Coast Global Geopark and is a perfect introduction point to the area’s rich heritage and geology. Your guides are members of a local Eco Group and have expert knowledge of the area and native species. The group aims to foster, protect, promote, and conserve the nature, wildlife, environment, and habitats of the Waterford area.

Find peace and tranquility as you walk through this veritable haven for birds. Varieties you might spot include seabirds, gulls, swifts, pipits, warblers, and many more. Your local guide will also identify and discuss the abundant flora and fauna you find along the way.

The walk meanders through forest and marshland along the Anne River on a specially constructed gravel path to Dunhill Castle. It passes beautiful ponds, home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including protected species. Please note that we cannot guarantee the sighting of specific species.

The cost of the tour includes a contribution to the local Eco Group. The members bring some binoculars for guests to use. Nonetheless, we recommend that guests bring their own binoculars.
