Manuel Antonio National Park is the jewel of the Costa Rica’s large number of national parks. Its fragile rainforest ecosystem shelters a wide variety of wildlife, including mammals and tropical birds.
The dense rainforest opens into small trails where your naturalist tour guide will explain the transitional forest. Another great attraction are the white-sand beaches that meet the jungle.
The Park hosts 1,687 acres of tropical rainforest and over a thousand different species of flora. This walk is one of the best in the Central Pacific and a great opportunity to experience the forest. The trail is moderately difficult on paths made of gravel, dirt, and sand, with exposed roots that you will need to manage.
After a 20-minute drive, your 1.5-hour guided walk will lead you to the beach, where you will have time to sunbathe or swim.
At the end this walk, your naturalist guide will prepare a tropical fruit buffet to put some pep in your step. Then you will head back to Quepos, where you can choose to be dropped off in town.
