Get a real feel for village life and the delightful countryside on this lovely tour of Devonshire’s ‘English Riviera’.

Start your journey from the Dartmouth pontoon and join a river cruise up the Dart river to the medieval town of Totnes.

By the 12th Century, Totnes had established itself as a market town and prospered throughout the medieval period. You can observe much of Totnes’ history through the historic buildings lining the streets and the atmospheric Guidlhall, which has been the home of the town council for over 450 years, under the watchful eye of the Normal castle, which overlooks the town. In modern times, it has gained a reputation as a center for learning, arts, alternate lifestyle, and culture. Spend time wandering through the streets at your leisure before joining the bus to continue your tour.

Your driver will then take you to the famous Dartmouth steam train, starting in the town on Paignton. The steam train chugs through the Devon countryside, through Goodrington, Churston, and finishes in Kingswear. Once you have arrived at Kingswear station, a short downhill walk will take you to the foot ferry to take you across the Dart River to the Dartmouth pontoon, where you started your journey that day.
