Take an exhilarating jetboat ride down the Stikine River in the Tongass National Forest.
  • Experience the thrill of a jetboat ride as you explore the delta and side sloughs of the Stikine River.

  • Get the chance to spot Alaskan wildlife in the forest along the way, and spawning salmon below.

  • Enjoy an onboard lunch of Alaska smoked salmon (or alternative) with cheese and wine.

  • Enter Shakes Lake and possibly get a look at Shakes Glacier, if conditions permit.


Jetboat adventure 

Enjoy a thrilling tour of the Stikine River from the seat of a heated and covered jetboat. Learn about the area's gold rush history and spot Alaskan wildlife among world-renowned scenery. Traverse the ever-changing river delta, spy on spawning salmon, and listen to thundering waterfalls. See the sparkling blue icebergs of Shakes Lake, and enjoy a delightful light lunch on board.

  • Remarks/requirements: The tour route and sights may change due to weather, nature and water conditions; on rare occasions you may experience quick or sudden stops, starts and turns while underway; warm layers are recommended; outhouses are available at the wilderness location; this excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility limitations, motion-related ailments or other health issues; guests must be over 8 years of age 

  • Menu: Alaskan smoked salmon (or possible substitute), wine, and cheese

  • Walking information: 300 feet from the ship to the jetboat; the ramp to the boat can be steep at low tide
