Explore Gerês – Portugal’s only national park! Visit a famous waterfall and enjoy spectacular views. This is a world where human activity integrates harmoniously with nature, preserving ancient values and traditions.
  • Natural landscape

  • Visit a spa village

  • Enjoy incredible views

  • See the famous Arado Waterfalls

This adventure visits amazing sites, including the famous Arado waterfalls and the Pedra Bela viewpoint, with its incredible view over the surrounding landscape.

A 4WD vehicle picks you up at the pier and takes you to Peneda Gerês parkland, covering 703 km2 (270 sq mi). While visitors can still find ecosystems in their natural state with little human interference, this is a humanised landscape. After seeing the waterfall and enjoying the view from Pedra Bela, we break for a delicious picnic.

On the tour we will also make a photostop at the Gerês Spa Village which dates back to Roman times, but it was during the 18th century that Dom João V ordered construction of the first thermal baths.

We then continue towards Caniçada Lake – another idyllic location in the park. Take advantage of this one last photo stop before we return to the pier.

*While we're excited to share the unique flavours of this region with you, it’s important to note that allergy awareness and hygiene standards can vary widely across the world. The local community providing food for this tour may not be as familiar with allergy concerns or preparation standards as suppliers in your home country or the expert chefs onboard our ships. As a precaution, we advise anyone with a severe food allergy to contact a member of the onboard Expedition Team before booking this excursion.
