Discover the St. Matthew Island and see one of Alaska’s most remote destinations. Should conditions allow, we will make a nature landing in the area. Disembarking on a small boat (RIB) on a solitary coast is the essence of expedition traveling. There are no ports, no houses, and probably no vehicles. Only raw nature, infinite landscapes, and untamed wildlife. No filters of any kind. The real pleasure is exploring the environment with the open mind of a pioneer and discovering the world as it used to be. Explore this uninhabited isle in the center of the Bering Strait, which is home only to arctic fox, voles, and seabirds.
At Hurtigruten, we have the best team of guides and naturalists, the highest safety measures, and the strictest environmental protocols to protect the land—all while ensuring an unforgettable experience.
