From aquarium to beach

Enjoy an exclusive tour of the Sitka Sound Science Center. See a variety of endemic deep-sea species, from sea anemones to urchins and their predator, the wolf eel. After getting a peek at the salmon hatchery process, you’ll board a locally built boat. Dine on local delicacies, scout for wildlife, and take in the view before landing at a stretch of pristine shoreline to stroll along the beach.

  • Remarks/requirements: Dress in warm and weather-appropriate layers. A meal and some refreshments are included on the vessel and a gift shop is available on board and at the Science Center. Restrooms are also available on board.

  • Walking information: 0.25 miles at the Science Center, 0.5–1 mile on uneven, rocky, wet terrain at the beach
