Ancient Ruins

Our agile ship can enter picturesque Igaliku Fjord directly. As we get closer to the settlement of Igaliku, where the archaeological site of Garðar lies, we’ll take our small expedition boats ashore.

Set among mirror-like lakes and towering mountains, the UNESCO-listed ruins of Garðar mark the former religious heart of Greenland’s Norse history. At the ruins, you can see the remains of the Episcopal Palace and cathedral that once stood here proudly.
