Planned Pre-Program itinerary:

Day 1: Reykjavik/Arrival

Overnight at a centrally located hotel in Reykjavik with the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2: Reykjavik/Drive to Thorsmörk

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before leaving. Reykjavik in the morning and then to Kerid Crater. Iceland is dotted with volcanic craters and Kerid is one of its most dramatic. Created by an explosion followed by the implosion of its cone, it now has a lake at its bottom. Continue your journey to the Geysir Geothermal Area. It features a multitude of hot springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser that spouts every few minutes. Lunch will be served in the area. After lunch, continue your drive to Gullfoss Waterfall. Of the country’s many waterfalls, the ‘Golden Waterfall’ is its most famous. Here, the river Hvítá drops 105 feet into two falls, creating an awesome spectacle. Following your visit to Gullfoss, you will head to your hotel in Southern Iceland; the Fósshotel Hekla.

Day 3: Thorsmörk

Enjoy a full day in Þórsmörk, often considered Iceland’s most beautiful area. Surrounded by glaciers and steep mountains covered in birch trees, Þórsmörk offers breathtaking views in every direction. On the way back, stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

You will stay overnight at the Fósshotel Hekla once more.

Day 4: Thorsmörk/Reykjavik, Embarkation

Depart your hotel and head toward the Secret Lagoon, a natural hot spring located in the small village of Flúðir. The Secret Lagoon is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland, built in 1891. Have a unique experience relaxing in warm water surrounded by several geothermal spots.

The pool’s natural surroundings and the steam rising into the air gives the place a magical feeling. Whatever the weather, it’s the perfect place to relax between sightseeing and enjoying Icelandic nature at its finest. Head to Fridheimar to find Icelandic agriculture, i.e. local greenhouses. There, a local family will share the story of their passion for horses and horticulture and how it became the basis for their life's work. Visit the greenhouse, and experience the fragrant aroma of fresh tomato plants and the buzzing of worker bees. Then it’s ‘bon appetit’ as lunch is served. After Fridheimar, head toward the beautiful Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park features one of Iceland’s most spectacular landscapes. The area is surrounded by mountains that shelter a vast lava plain lined with green moss and wild flowers.

Your pre-program ends at the pier in time for embarkation.

Please note that the order of sites we visit may vary.
