Itinerary for your Pre-Program:

Day 1

Transfer from the airport to Sintra and enjoy some free time at the beautiful palace hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, we’ll head to the beautiful Monserrate Palace and gardens, whose charms were sung by the poet Lord Byron. This imposing property was first built in the 18th century. It has since passed through the hands of several influential and wealthy owners, including William Beckford and Francis Cook. It was the latter who turned Monserrate into what we see now. While you stroll the grounds, discover this 19th-century idealism, inspired by Cook’s romanticism, featuring cascades, romantic ruins, flower gardens, and exotic plants from faraway countries.

After that, we’ll explore Cape Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Portugal, continental Europe, and the Eurasian land mass. On your cruise, you will explore several of Europe’s ‘Land’s Ends’.

The second part of the day will be spent in the cosmopolitan town of Cascais, which used to be a small fishing village. Stroll its cobblestone streets, shops, and the yacht harbor before proceeding to Sintra, where you will enjoy a delicious Portuguese meal. Before returning to your hotel, enjoy free time and explore Sintra’s town center.

Day 3

Leave Sintra’s lush mountains behind and head to Lisbon, where your ship awaits. Your first stop will be the historical quarter of Belém, where you will visit Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. The building is widely recognized as the finest sight in Lisbon. It was built in the 16th century to commemorate the discoveries of Portuguese navigators. We will stop to take photos at Eduard VII park, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city. In Baixa, you can walk the pedestrian area of Augusta Street, which connects Rossio to Commerce Square. Many consider it the most beautiful square in Europe. Your Pre-Program then comes to an end and you will head to the pier for embarkation.

Please note that the order of sites we visit may vary.
