Enjoy an unforgettable safari during your stay in Senegal at Bandia Nature Reserve. Here, you’ll get to see some of the big mammals of Africa living in a wildlife park that spans 8,650 acres, as well as huge baobab trees, thorn trees, and liana vines.

Bandia Reserve, located about 40 miles from Dakar, is one of Senegal’s real ecological gems. Here, conservationists have succeeded in reintroducing much of the marvelous native flora to the area, as well as some of Africa’s best-loved animals, many of which are threatened by demographic pressures and poaching.

Upon arrival, you’ll meet your local guide and climb aboard a safari truck. Your expert guide will locate and reveal wildlife during your tour, which lasts around two hours. You may spot a shy giraffe, a vulture’s nest, or a lone buffalo hiding in scrub. Here, you might also see monkeys, gazelles, ostriches, rhinos, turtles, crocodiles, green monkeys, antelopes, jackals, and giant African tortoises.

The reserve is also a sanctuary for birds, many of which can be observed in the savannah and around the lake, so make sure you bring your camera. In addition to the fauna and flora, see replica pyramids, complete with burial chambers.

At the end of your tour, enjoy a cold drink in the bar while overlooking a waterhole where buffaloes wallow and crocodiles lurk like floating logs. See and hear monkeys chattering in the trees around you as you sip your drink!

After your experience, a bus will return you to your hotel in Dakar.

Note: This excursion is weather-dependent and may be cancelled if the conditions are unsuitable. Light clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended, along with long pants.
