Johanna Davidsson will be planting her flag for all those who long to connect with their inner explorer.
Johanna Davidsson is a nurse by profession, but an explorer at heart.
She is passionate about glacier guiding, mountain climbing, skiing, paddling and sailing. In other words, her idea of a perfect day is a day spent outdoors.
In 2014, Davidsson and her sister were the first to cross Greenland on a non-stop expedition south to north. For 36 days they snow kited across the 1400 mile long ice sheet, an accomplishment that earned them the Swedish title “Female Explorers of the year”.
As an explorer she wants to inspire more women to seek adventures. At the same time she does not want to be categorized as a ‘female explorer’, but rather prefers to stay focused on what we all can achieve when we put in the effort.
“Most of all I am looking forward to be completely by myself – to disconnect from the rest of the world”
This year, Davidsson is heading to Antarctica – on an expedition that will make her the first Swedish woman to ski solo to the South Pole and back, without reinforcements on her way in. She will be planting her flag for all those who long to connect with their inner explorer.
Do as Johanna Davidsson, and make the untouched wilderness of Antarctica your next adventure.
