Upon arrival in Oslo, you will check in to your hotel, located within walking distance from the bus station. Even though you’re staying in downtown Oslo, surrounded by the city life, all the rooms are quiet. If you have time, we recommend you head out for a good meal at one of the many nearby restaurants. Enjoy the evening and prepare yourself for two exciting days experiencing Norway’s capital.
City sightseeing and Norwegian dinner
Make sure you eat a good breakfast, as you have a full day of sightseeing ahead of you. Your guide will meet you in the hotel reception and take you on a walk to show you some of Oslo’s most well-known attractions. Learn about one of the fastest growing capitals in Europe and visit the iconic Opera House, Oslo Nobel Peace Center and the National Gallery.
Oslo has a lot to offer! We’ll make sure that you cover off the main highlights, but you will also have some time on your own to explore the city in between activities. As your hotel is well situated, it makes a great starting point for sightseeing. Many attractions are within walking distance, whether you seek shopping, art, food or just observing the distinctively gentle city life of Oslo.
In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious meal, using Norwegian ingredients and inspired by Norway’s proud food traditions. The restaurant is located along the seafront on the popular Aker Brygge. For your starter, you will have a selection of the day’s catch – scallops, clipfish, smoked salmon and caviar. As a main course, choose between Norwegian salmon or lamb, and you will get to try a very special dessert, Norwegian brown cheese ice cream.
Oslo from above
After breakfast and check-out, your guide will meet you at the hotel for another exciting day. Today, you’ll visit Oslo’s famous ski jump Holmenkollen, just 40 minutes outside the city centre by public transport. From the open-air metro, you can enjoy fantastic views of the Oslo fjord as you ascend. Your guide will share interesting stories about one of the most popular recreational areas in Oslo.
Your first stop is Frognerseteren wooden cottage, where the oldest part of the building dates back to 1891. Admire the panoramic views of Oslo and the fjord while enjoying a hot drink and cake from the Kafé Seterstua.
Walking down the hill, we’ll stop by the Holmenkollen wooden church on the way to Holmenkollen ski arena, where the FIS World Cup Nordic ski festival takes place every winter.
The guide will take you to the ski museum and to the top of the 60m-high ski jump tower, with a viewing platform offering a panorama of Oslo and its surrounding areas.
After taking in the beautiful scenery, you will take the metro back down to your hotel where you’ll collect your luggage and take the bus to the airport. From here, you’ll fly to Bergen for embarkation on a Hurtigruten ship at Bergen terminal, where new adventures await you along the Norwegian coast!
Transfer airport to hotel; Oslo-Bergen flight and transfer from Bergen airport to Bergen port; 2 nights’ B&B hotel accommodation in Oslo; city sightseeing with guide; 3-course dinner; guided trip to Holmenkollen ski jump and Frognerseteren on public transport (entrance fee, cake and hot drink included).
