Sal Rei is a colorful village with European inspiration. It shows evidence of a rich commercial past, when the island exported salt, dyes for textiles, cotton, cattle, lime, and pottery in large quantities.

Your tour begins at the center of Sal Rei. The village is now occupied by several businesses lead mainly by Italians. Enjoy a short walking tour through the village and visit the municipal market (closed on Sundays) and fish market. Stroll past the Catholic church and visit the cultural center and handicraft shops. You can also see the small island in front of Sal Rei, the island of Sal Rei. Here, the Portuguese built Fort Duke of Braganza to protect the town from attacks by pirates.

After the walking tour, you will have time to wander at your leisure or do some souvenir shopping. Relax with views of the Atlantic or visit its nearby warm and sandy beaches. The day will finish on the ship’s deck, looking back at the city.
