Visit Bleaker Island a wildlife rich Island, home to three species of penguin and an abundance of wildlife. A trip for the adventurous, this tour involves a 30 minute flight in one of our fleet of five twin engine Britten-Norman Islander aircraft operated by the Falkland Islands Government Air Service (FIGAS).
Your flight will last 30 minutes giving you an aerial view of the rugged mountainous terrain, wild landscapes and the natural coastal beauty. Photos are permitted on the flight, and if you have a keen eye you may be able to spot a whale or two, dolphins or even an albatross in flight.
On arrival at Bleaker Island you will be met by the owner Mr Mike Rendell. Your tour of Bleaker Island will include the chance to see Gentoo penguins, Magellanic penguins and the Rockhopper penguin. Sandy Bay, a white sand beach with crystal clear waters is a fantastic viewing platform to watch the penguins return from feeding.
There is also a large pond where many water fowl thrive, including Silvery Grebe, Black Necked swan and Brown hooded gull.
