This tour is more than just a strenuous hike, it is a challenge where you will also learn about historical and modern use of the mountains around Longyearbyen.
During the hike the guides will point out the tiny Arctic flowers, and be on the lookout for local wildlife.
We will pass an old mine entrance, and will have to walk some steep sections and finally reach the peak at 317m, from where we will head towards the renowned Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Because the vault is a secure location, guests are not able to visit the Vault on the inside. The guide will explain its international significance, as well as its construction. From here the bus will collect us for transfer to the harbour.
