This excursion will show you the highlights of Recife and Olinda. The tour begins with a panorama of Recife, including the three islands (Recife, Santo Antônio and Boa Vista) that make up the city centre, the bridge of Maurício de Nassau.
In Olinda we’ll visit Alto da Sé, with the churches of Sé and Misericórdia(outside), and a breathtaking view of the twin cities. Subsequently, there will be a visit to the São Bento Monastery. In Carnival, joyful revellers parade down the streets after following the traditional giant puppets, like the Homem da Meia-noite (“Midnight Man”), or joining in the town’s colourful carnival troupes, such as Pitombeira dos Quatro Cantos and Elefante. Olinda has been declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Monument by UNESCO. You will see Boa Viagem, a sophisticated residential neighbourhood where there are many hotels, restaurants and modern buildings; there will be a stop for photo. Lunch at Spettus, afterwards we will visit the the fantastic Ateliêr Francisco Brennand. Afterwards, the fantastic Ricardo Brennand Museum, with its collection of sculptures, weapons (one of the largest of the world), tapestries and Decorative Art.
