Departing from the pier, you will pass the downtown area of Coquimbo, heading to the beaches and town of La Herradura at the Guayacan bay. Famous historical characters such as Sir Francis Drake, Sharp and others are part of La Herradura’s legendary history.
After a stop for taking photographs, the tour proceeds to La Serena city through the fishing town of Peñuelas. A stop at the Archeological Museum allows time to see artefacts of the Diaguita and Molle cultures, and as “a special treat” you can also see an original Moai from Easter Island. Then, stroll one block up to La Recova handicraft market to find papaya products, handicrafts in lapis lazuli and combarbalita (semi-precious stones), pottery and ceramic with Diaguita motifs and Alpaca wool articles.
You will view fantastic landscapes during a drive on the Pan-American Highway before you return to Coquimbo and the pier.
