After crossing three islands that feature scenery that is ever-changing but always beautiful, the first stop is the Lofotr Viking Museum, a site still surrounded by farmland, just as it was in the Viking Era. This living museum features a reconstruction of the largest Viking longhouse found anywhere in the world. The weapons in the longhouse are all replicas, so you can play Viking to your heart’s content! For those less inclined to take up arms, they can admire the skill used to recreate the world of over a thousand years ago, or the skills still on display by the craftspeople. The archeological discoveries from the site are housed in a separate building, which also features a souvenir shop, a café, and other displays.
