Your tour begins in the largest of Lofoten’s two towns, Svolvær. Admire views of the Svolværgeita mountain peak, which dominates the town and resembles a goat with horns.

Heading south, we’ll follow the road on the inner coast, driving between breathtaking mountains on one side and the sea on the other. See picturesque scenes of charming fishing villages clinging to the edge of mountains that rise out of the sea. This is Lofoten.

We’ll take an underwater tunnel to the island of Flakstad. From here, we follow the outer coast, where you’ll see the charming 19th-century Flakstad church, the second-oldest church in Lofoten.

Close to the town of Ramberg is nearly a mile of pristine sandy beach. On a sunny day, the white sand and the clear, turquoise water make you wonder if you really are 124 miles north of the Arctic Circle. We’ll pass dramatic mountain scenery as we continue further south, until we reach the island of Moskenes. Here, you’ll see small fishing villages, many with rowboats from the early 19th century.

We’ll pass Sakrisøy and Hamnøy, along with many other small islands, on our way to Reine. Reine is one of Norway’s best-preserved fishing villages and has gained a reputation for being one of the world’s most beautiful places.
