On this excursion, you’ll meet Indigenous Sámi people, nomadic reindeer herders whose roots expand across ‘Sápmi’, a region spanning large parts of Norway, Sweden, and Russia.

After exchanging a warm greeting with our Sámi hosts, you’ll have an opportunity to tap into their extensive knowledge of Arctic nature. They’ll explain how the local flora has been a natural ‘pharmacy’ for the Sámi people and possesses valuable pain-relieving properties.

Fall is a period for the Sámi to prepare for winter, including stocking up their food reserves. An experienced reindeer herder will present and serve traditional dishes for you to try, such as dried reindeer meat, crowberry juice, nettle tea, and a roseroot brew.

Enjoy sitting back and listening to joik, traditional Sámi folk music, as well as the tales of the noaidi, Smi shaman, on this enchanting journey. You can also take a close-up look at colorful S’mi traditional handicrafts, known as duodji.
