Drive to Festung Lista Hangar museum, a historical museum located in Hangar 45, at ‘Lista Fly-og Næringspark’. The museum contains amazing discoveries from World War II, where you can gain insight into what it was like to live at Lista in wartime. The museum is now Southern Norway’s largest and widest-ranging historical adventure museum, with a total of over 16,000 sq ft of indoor exhibitions located in the former German aircraft hangar. These exhibitions take the form of modules and free-standing indoor departments. The museum is sure to be a memorable experience.

A short drive from Hangar 45 is Nordberg Fort. Germans built the fort during World War II. It is one of the few coastal forts that is preserved in its original form and protected as cultural heritage. From atop the fort, you will have a great view of the Lista coastline, a popular place for hiking, bike riding, and visiting beaches. The tunnels at the fort are fun and popular for visitors of all ages. They have been secured and protected from the elements. The fort has 17 authentic buildings and also features a new museum, where you can find a café, museum shop, and exhibitions. In the café, enjoy complimentary coffee and lappekake/svele. You will have free access to explore the buildings of the fort.
