Cruise around Tromsø island onboard Brim, the silent, electric, and non-polluting ship. As the gateway to the Arctic, Tromsø has attracted generations of explorers and innovators who have left their marks on the town, both above and below the surface. Take in the atmospheric light of the Arctic night in all its majesty with 360º panoramic views, both outside and in. We cruise around Tromsø island in warmth and comfort, past snow-covered mountains, through icy waters, and by landmarks like the Arctic cathedral. We’ll launch an underwater drone and with lights to discover the mysteries of the depths below. If luck is on our side, the Northern Lights may appear among the stars’ reflection on the dark ocean waters. Below the surface, you might discover both marine life and one of World War II’s pivotal events: the sinking of the Tirpitz, Germany’s largest warship, in the icy waters outside Tromsø. Hear the story of British air raiders who bombed and sank this ship that Churchill called ‘the Beast’. Today, just 15,000 of the ship’s original 50,000 tons lay scattered just 30–50 feet below the surface at Håkøya, south of Tromsø. We will serve you an Arctic flavors tasting platter during the trip, which you can wash down with a warm or cold local beverage available for purchase on board. Our experienced guides tell local stories and share their knowledge about coastal culture, its history, and the special High North food culture. Meanwhile, enjoy the views from deck or from one of the saloons.
