Trondheim is an ancient city, with records of inhabitants stretching back to the Viking ages. Today we will explore two of Trondheim’s main attractions. First, we visit Nidaros Cathedral, Norway’s national shrine. The cathedral is built over the burial place of St. Olav, Norway’s patron saint. Admire its detailed architecture and exquisite works of art. After a guided tour of the cathedral, spend some free time exploring*. The bus then takes you to the Ringve Museum of Musical History, where your enthusiastic tour guide will bring Norway’s musical history to life. This beautiful manor house is surrounded by a delightful botanical garden and was the childhood home of Norwegian naval hero Petter Wessel Tordenskiold. The Museum is conveniently located just outside Trondheim, and thus represents an idyllic spot to enjoy the beautiful views of both the city and the fjord.
