A local boat takes you to the small village of Urke. You drive along the shores of the majestic Hjørundfjord surrounded by the characteristic, pointed mountains of the Sunnmøre Alps. Next you come to the very narrow Norangsdalen valley, where you will hear dramatic stories of the valley’s past and even see the foundations of a submerged settlement.
You then arrive in Hellesylt, where you embark for the 1-hour long ferry cruise on the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. From the panorama deck you can fully enjoy this famous fjord with its steep mountains and waterfalls. From the village of Geiranger, Ørnesvingen (the Eagle’s Bend) take you up to a beautiful viewpoint, before you continue to the next ferry and then up into the mountains.
Here you can enjoy breathing the fresh mountain air while you stretch your legs. From the viewpoint, it is possible to see the Trollstigen serpentine road where you are headed. After 11 exciting bends down the Trollstigen, it is time for a break with tea/coffee and delicious local refreshments. Finally, you can enjoy the Romsdalen valley – and one more ferry – on the way to Molde. You end the excursion with dinner at Hotel Alexandra next to the port in Molde.
