Hurricane Ridge, nearly a mile high, is one of the two most most-visited sights in Olympic National Park. It’s no wonder, given its spectacular mountain views. After enjoying the views and stopping at the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center, take a nature hike on one of the area’s many trails. While meandering up the hiking trail, you may see sub-alpine flowers like lupine, Indian paintbrush, and avalanche lilies. Listen for the whistle of a marmot, which are frequently seen and heard in this northwest Washington area. Whistle back to marmot and he will whistle back.
