Our tour departs from the port toward the old town of Ferrol. In the 18th century, this once-quaint fishing village became the most important navy base in Northern Spain. At the port, we can walk a small portion of ‘El Camino’, the pilgrimage path to Santiago de Compostela. This one was used by English pilgrims who sailed from Britain to Ferrol and then continued walking toward Santiago. Thus, this ‘camino’ is called the English Way.

From the gardens of San Francisco, we will have a great view of the navy base, the old shipyards and the arsenal. We will continue visiting the Magdalena quarter, which was military engineers built as the new elegant town center. The quarter is full of neoclassical churches, charming squares, and beautiful buildings from the time of the Enlightenment, with subsequent additions in art nouveau style. We will finish the tour at Plaza de Galicia, very close to the interesting Naval Museum. From here, we will take a bus back to the port.
