We depart from the pier for a panoramic tour of Brest, only with short stops along the way.
Historical Brest and its spellbinding coast
After the last war, Brest was rebuilt on a geometric plan. Streets have evocative names such as Bougainville, La Fayette, Siam, or Cours Dajot... Have a glimpse at the castle, dating back to the 15th century.
The drive continues to the Abers Coast. Since the 5th century this Leon country has held secrets and memories of Welsh and Irish immigrants, on their way to Christianise Brittany. The legends and Abers trail invites you to discover the peculiar coastline: a mixture of small capes, rocky islets and large estuaries (abers).
Travelling along the Coast of Legends, you may find yourself following the footsteps of Saint Pol Aurelien. See the little harbour of Portsall and then follow the coast down. Next the rocky promontory of the Saint Mathieu Point will come into sight. There, the ruins of Saint Mathieu Abbey stand proudly. The beauty of this site will cast a spell on and you will have time to wander around the site.
