Biking Tour in Lysekil
Bike in beautiful surroundings!
Learn how to ride a mountain bike.
Level 4: Hard
Guests should wear flat, comfortable shoes and dress according to the weather.
The jagged cliffs north of Lysekil provided shelter and raw material for hundreds of families, who depended on them for the curbstones they exported to European cities. One hundred years later, the poor dwellings of local stone masons and a few fishermen have been transformed into quaint summer houses on the water’s edge.
This tour begins by meeting your private local biking guide at the pier. Board a vehicle for a short transfer to where the mountain bikes are waiting. There, you will have a safety demonstration and practice basic techniques.
We will ride on gravel, grass and on the naked granite cliffs. Every now and then we will have to share local routes with cars to travel between different areas. You will ride on old roads through abandoned quarries, passing local farms with fields, harbors, and pristine cliffs that are still untouched by humans.
Take a moment to embrace the smell and sounds of nature. We will make several short stops along the way to rest. Weather permitting, we will take a break on the granite plateau, where we can enjoy a 360° view. We will enjoy one last photo op upon returning to Lysekil, where we can see the archipelago and the area we left behind.
Remarks/requirements: Guests should wear flat, comfortable shoes and dress according to the weather.
