Framed by majestic rainforest and the blue ocean lies the small and historical coastal town of Quepos. Named after the native Costa Rican Quepoa Indians, the town has been an epicenter for the development of different industries. First it was the banana companies and later, the African Palm oil processing plants.

Fishing is also an important activity for the local economy however, tourism is without a doubt the most sustainable.

Today you will have an opportunity to acquire rich historical information of this region of Costa Rica. Learn about different topics such as our educational programs, National Park system, local lifestyle and more.

The tour continues to a local school in a little “finca” surrounded by African Palm where you will have the opportunity to spend time with the students at the local school and support them by purchasing a tasty natural fruit drink and a local snack.

Right before heading back to the pier, we will stop at a Costa Rican local "Mercado" where you will have an opportunity to browse for the different local produce as well as handcrafts.

An optional drop off in downtown Quepos is also available, where you will find several restaurants and shops.
