Sombrero and bolero

Mariachi is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century. The usual mariachi band today consists of violins, trumpets and at least one guitar, and all players taking turns singing lead and backing vocals. In 2011, UNESCO recognised mariachi as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, joining six other entries on the Mexican list for that category.
