The island of Gigha is privately owned by its 150 inhabitants. With heather clad hills, deserted beaches, and a single-lane road that meanders for six miles between cottages and farms, Gigha is truly a place apart. The baronial Achamore House mansion is set amid the 50-acre Achamore Gardens.

These stunning gardens, created by the Horlick family (known for their eponymous milk drink) are world famous for the rhododendrons and many rare species of trees and other shrubs, some of which are now endangered in their respective countries of origin. Many sub-tropical plants flourish here, thanks to Gigha’s warm climate.

Guests can explore the gardens independently.

Shuttle to the gardens is subject to availability.
