Antarctica is a continent of ice and snow. A world so big that, as a visitor, you can't help but feel tiny. When we go ashore in this immense landscape of white and blue, our limits are mainly defined by the difficulty of getting around in the deep snow. But now, imagine that you could just extend your radius. Imagine that the snow, usually the hiker's trap, can carry your weight reliably! This is why, in addition to our regular excursion programme, we sometimes offer snowshoe hikes.
Make your way through pristine snowfields
Snowshoes simply spread the weight of your body over a larger surface. The effect is baffling – suddenly you can walk across snow fields, climb hills, cross glittering plains that were totally out of reach before. Hike where no one has hiked before, make your way through pristine snowfields and expand your limits. Feel the spirit of the early explorers who scrambled through the great expanses, just as we are doing now.
The equipment has improved since then, of course – our snowshoes are top-of-the-line, easy to use, safe and suitable for anyone who is a capable hiker. It is probably one of the most intense adventures possible on the most remote continent of our planet. Our experienced guides are delighted to share this amazing world with you.
