First, a local guide presents an introduction to Stanley – the diminutive capital of the Falklands. A coach then drives you along Ross Road, Stanley’s main street, which runs along the sea front. The guide points out interesting sights along the way.

Apart from the major highlights, which include the Cathedral with its Whale Bone Arch, the 1982 Liberation Memorial, wrecks of old sailing ships, a private whalebone display, Stanley Airport, minefields, and some of Stanley’s original houses, you also see the hospital, Government House, the Community School, The mizzen-mast from the famous SS Great Britain, and Stanley’s various hotels – all which impart an idea about the islanders’ daily life in this ruggedly remote yet beautiful place. The guide´s commentary and stories convey additional insights about Falklands heritage, social habits and economy

You are also taken outside town for a stunning view of Stanley and down to the harbour to see the shipwreck The Lady Elizabeth. Various species of flora and fauna can also be seen on this tour, including the upland goose and flightless Falkland steamer duck.

The tour ends at the new Historic Dockyard and Museum with the option of being dropped off at the Jetty Visitor Centre instead.
