Explore the Tongass Rainforest and see the botanical bounty that humans and animals have been living off for thousands of years. Your Alaskan guide will lead you on a short getaway into the unique ecosystems of our coastal temperate rainforest on the Wrangell Nature Trail. Learn about how tidal, muskeg, alpine, and deep forest ecosystems are interconnected and discover a variety of edible and medicinal uses of the local flora and fauna, which continue to be important for survival throughout Southeast Alaska. This enjoyable experience among the lush, quiet, and peaceful surroundings of the mighty Tongass Rainforest will also provide you with a wealth of knowledge. Guests walk through the historic sites of Wrangell on the way to the trailhead. The tour departs from and returns to the pier.
