Join your Alaska native guide and embark on a journey from past to present. Learn the history of Wrangell through the lens of its first Nation, the Tlingit. Begin your journey as invited guests at Chief Shakes Tribal House. Sit down to celebrate the rich heritage of the Tlingit Nation and hear legends and stories passed down from generation to generation. Visit the Wrangell Museum (guided interpretation provided) to learn about Alaska’s third-oldest city, Fort Wrangell. Discover ancient petroglyphs, learn their mysteries, and comb the beach on your visit to Petroglyph Beach. As the third-oldest city in Alaska, ruled by four nations under three flags, Wrangell’s heritage and diverse history is captivating. As a company owned by Alaska Natives, we pride ourselves on using Alaska Native Guides and partner with our local tribe at Chief Shakes Tribal House to provide an authentic cultural experience.
