Explore the highlights and heritage of Sitka, a former ‘Russian’ capital city. This unique and fully narrated sightseeing journey includes a tour through Sitka National Park and a folk dancing presentation. Your day begins with a scenic bus ride along Sitka’s picturesque roadways en route to Sitka National Historical Park, where the Battle of Alaska was fought in 1804. The park hosts totem-lined trails, cultural exhibits, and carving rooms where native Alaskan artisans demonstrate their totemic art form. Here, you can walk along the forest trail, view the exhibits, or interact with the artists.

Your next stop will be at Centennial Hall, where you’ll be treated to a special performance by the Alaska Story Tellers. Watch Alaska’s heritage come alive through narration, music, song, and dance. Following the performance, your tour will end downtown, where you can take a short walk to St. Michael’s Cathedral. You can admire original artwork dating back to the early 16th century.
