Upon arrival to Haines, your professional kayak guide will meet you to take you on a once-in-a-lifetime ocean kayaking trip.. Your two-person kayaks will be ready on the beach, just a five-minute walk from the ferry pier. Choose from a variety of beautiful ocean paddles, depending on sea conditions and weather.

Your guides will outfit you with a personal flotation device, spray skirt, and ponchos, if needed. You will be off and paddling after a safety briefing and equipment fitting.

You will be on the water for about two hours. In the past, we have spotted eagles, sea lions, seals, dall porpoises, humpback whales, and other marine wildlife. Your guide is an expert naturalist and will share extensive knowledge about the fjord, marine wildlife, and local geography. We will likely stop at a remote beach for you to stretch your legs and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Southeast Alaska. Once off the water, we will enjoy a waterside picnic on the beach.

If ocean conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll will head to our backup location on Chilkoot Lake, which is a 30-minute van ride along the Chilkoot River. This backup location is surrounded by mountains with alpine waterfalls and salmon spawning beds.
