Today, you’ll relish the opportunity to try a classic Norwegian winter activity: snowshoeing. You’ll start this excursion with a short bus ride that takes you to the top of Tromsøya Island. The mainly flat area is a patchwork of snow-dusted birch and spruce forests, and a few gentle slopes.

With modern snowshoes strapped on, you’ll feel as if you’re floating above the snow as we set off on a short walk. Breathe in the crisp winter air, take in the winter scenery as you go, and listen to your guide talk about nature in the surrounding area and everyday life here in the Arctic.

Follow the guide through the forest to a clearing where we’ll set up a cosy bonfire. Enjoy a hot drink and a sweet snack while swapping stories around the fire, or relive some childhood fun by sledding down the slopes on a simple toboggan.
