  • View Providencia and its turquoise waters from the island’s highest point.

  • Trek in the tropical dry/rain forest of Providencia and appreciate wildlife and nature.

  • Panoramic drive in a pick-up truck

This is a strenuous walk to the highest point on this mountainous island. It provides you with an unrivalled opportunity to see the full variety of the flora and fauna on the island and rewards you with some of the most stunning panoramic views in the Caribbean. The activity starts with a 30-minute ride in a pick-up truck on the island’s only road to the southern part of the island, where the hike begins. The hike starts with a gentle incline along dirt pathways and dry creeks, through pastures and lightly wooded areas, before entering the thickly wooded slopes of the mountains. The terrain becomes more challenging with rocks, boulders, loose gravel, and dirt pathways underfoot. The ascent becomes much steeper, but there are plenty of trees and rocks to give good grip for both feet and hands! Much of the trek is through thickly wooded terrain, which provides shelter from the sun and affords the opportunity to appreciate the flora and fauna. On the higher reaches of the mountain, the vegetation thins and the pathway is sandy, less rocky, and flatter. With a short final climb, you will reach the peak, which provides breath-taking views, a fresh breeze, and a sense of peace. The return walk retraces the route down the mountain, before driving to the pier in Santa Isabel.
