“Alaska’s Little Norway” 

Take a shuttle to the Raven’s Roost trailhead via picturesque Sandy Beach Road and listen as your Alaskan driver describes local life. We’ll make a stop at Nordic-themed Outlook Park to spot whales and orcas in Frederick Sound. At the trailhead in Sandy Beach Park, your guide will escort you along Raven’s Roost trail through glades and temperate rainforest, where endemic wildflowers and skunk cabbage thrive.

  • Remarks/requirements: Complimentary water is included; layered clothing, water bottle and rain gear are recommended.  

  • Language: English 

  • Walking information: Involves walking two miles on good trail, with roughly a 500ft elevation gain over walk. 

  • Wheelchair accessible: The bus has a wheelchair lift, and the trail can accommodate a wheelchair, but some effort will be needed to move it along.
