Happy Fruite is the perfect tour for nature lovers, who want to discover a paradise of fruits and biodiversity located in the heart of the Ecuadorian dry forest. You will learn about this permaculture model, the cultivation of the land, bioconstruction, conservation, and sustainable management, birds & biodiversity.

Happy Fruit is an agroecological farm situated in the dry forest of Arenillas, province of the department El Oro. The property includes 8 hectares of organic fruit plantation and 9 hectares of forest for conservation purpose.  

You are welcome with an energizing juice made of seasonal fruits with moringa powder that is cultivated and manufactured in the farm. Then we tell you something about our farm and its model of sustainability and wellness.  

Before you start the walk, we provide you with boots, hats and natural repellent made based on essential oils. The track is an adventure that leads you through the fruit trees with its agroecological cultivation trying the delicious seasonal fruits (You can try a diversity of at least 10 tastings directly from the plant), and then walk through the herbs fields, one of the most interesting and aromatic area with almost 20 species of cultivated herbs, plus around 20 known medicinal plants of the dry forest are part of the laboratory and natural pharmacy.  

After the circular round-trip walk, you will try the tasting of some organic gourmet farm products and have a short break to rest and take a look of the “mercadito” shop before to come back to the Port.

Practical information

  • Language: English.

  • Included: 1 Natural Juice.

  • Remarks/requirements: Appropriate clothing, comfortable hiking shoes and a cap or hat.  Insect repellent is highly recommended during the months of December to April. 

  • Walking information: The walk involves uneven, steep surfaces through a dirt trail, flat in limited area around the main farmhouse. 

  • Wheelchair accessible: No.
