Fly from an airport near you. Joining your Hurtigruten voyage has never been easier, with regular scheduled flights to Norway's major cities such as Bergen, Ålesund, Trondheim, Bodø, Tromsø and Kirkenes.

 

Facts
• The ships visit 34 ports along the coast and the ports of Bergen, Ålesund, Trondheim, Bodø, Tromsø and Kirkenes all have good flight connections.  If you are interested in seeing all of the ports on route you can download the sailing map.
• All ships have comfortable panorama lounges, restaurant and high standard conference rooms for up to 200 people.
• The cabins on board are comfortable and all have a shower/toilet and a sofa/berths.
• Suites and mini suites are also available.
• All ships have internet access and there is generally good coverage for mobile phones.
• Many excursions are offered ashore, most of which can be pre-booked.
• Midnight Sun: May to the end of July.
• Polar Nights: November to the end of January.

 

History
• 1893: The first Hurtigruten voyage departs Trondheim for Hammerfest, via 11 harbours.
• 1898: The Hurtigruten route expands southward to include Bergen, with three departures a week.
• 1908: Kirkenes, near the Russian border, becomes the northern turning point of the Hurtigruten voyage.
• 1993: A new era begins with the launch of the modern ships. The modernisation of Hurtigruten's fleet resulted in 10 new ships being added to the fleet by the end of 2007.
• 2008: Hurtigruten celebrates its 115th birthday. For more than a century, its passenger and cargo ships have connected Northern and Southern Norway.
