The Norwegian Fjords Spring Adventure

Join us for a spring voyage to Norway, when blossoms bloom and waterfalls cascade once more along the magnificent fjords. This unique alternative to the traditional Coastal Voyage takes you on a journey along Norway’s stunning western coast, home to some of the most spectacular fjords in the world.

Day 1 Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city, the third largest port in Europe and a thriving modern city, popular among tourists from all over the world.

Day 2 North Sea

As today is spent at sea, you may wish to follow our on board lectures, take in the fresh air out on deck, or just enjoy a relaxing day in our keep-fit area or panorama lounge.

Day 3 Stavanger, Norway

Stavanger is often referred to as the Petroleum Capital of Norway, and the city offers a charming combination of old buildings and new industries existing side by side. Norway’s oldest cathedral is situated right in the city centre and around the harbour you will also find the oldest surviving wooden housing district in northern Europe.

Day 4 Lysefjord and Rosendal, Norway

The famous walls of Preikestolen tower an impressive 604 metres over the Lysefjord. These walls provide a spectacular backdrop as we sail through this popular fjord en route to Rosendal. This charming little town is the home to less than 1,000 inhabitants but still houses one of the most important museums in Western Norway, the Barony Manor House.

Day 5 Ulvik and Eidfjord in Hardangerfjord

We will have an early visit to Ulvik, Norway’s apple-growing region, renowned at this time of year for its beautiful blossoms. From Ulvik we continue into Eidfjord, famed for the impressive Vøringsfossen, an 1,800-metre high waterfall.

Day 6 Flåm, Nærøyfjord, Balestrand in Sognefjord

Flåm is most famous for its railway; one of the steepest tracks in the world, and the most popular rail journey in Norway. From Flåm we sail into Norway’s longest fjord, the Sognefjord. Here we will make a stop in the picturesque village Balestrand.

Day 7 Ålesund, Geiranger, Geirangerfjord

Visit Ålesund, a colourful coastal town renowned for its Art Nouveau architecture. Later in the day we will sail into magnificent Geirangerfjord, voted the most iconic destination in the world by National Geographic in 2009. The fjord has also been on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites since 2005.

Day 8 Olden, Nordfjord, Hyenfjord

Enjoy a view of the spectacular Jostedals-breen, the biggest glacier in continental Europe as we sail into Olden where we will spend the day. On the way back to the sea, we will make a late evening sailing to Hyenfjord.

Day 9 Bergen

Bergen is Norway’s second largest city and the cultural capital of Norway. The city is best known for its picture-postcard Bryggen district, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 10 At sea

Spend the day learning something new, enjoy the view from our observation lounge or just relax in one of our Jacuzzis out on deck.

Day 11 Oslo

Enjoy the view of the final fjord in our programme, as we sail into the Oslofjord, in the early hours of the morning. Explore Norway’s vibrant and diverse capital before continuing your journey home.
