What is social media?
In essence, social media is people having conversations online. Whether you write on a Facebook wall, or Tweet your thoughts you are participating in the social media. The conversations are powered by blogs, online chat, social networks and message boards to name a few.

 

What social media platforms are you on?
So far we are active on Facebook, NING, Twitter, YouTube and Linkedin. We also have a blog on WordPress where our global web team publish posts and ideas for our online activities.

 

How do Hurtigruten use social media?
We currently have a group on Facebook for passengers to interact with each other. Our YouTube channel features videos about the history of Hurtigruten as well promotional videos. On Linkedin and WordPress we give you the chance to meet the people of Hurtigruten and we use Twitter to answer any inquiries you may have.

 

We also have a new concept called HurtigrutenNOW which showcase what platforms we are on and links to them. It’s easily accessible and you become aware of these platforms in seconds, as oppose to spending countless hours search for Hurtigruten on Facebook.
